Description

3rd  September, 1939. The United Kingdom is at war.

In the heart of Barrow-in-Furness, siblings Ted and Muriel are forced to grow up. It’s no longer safe to stay in barrow overnight and Muriel must leave to take safety in Sowerby Woods.

Now, old enough to join the war effort, Ted begins work at the Docks, while Muriel joins the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service. The Barrow Blitz rages on. As the air raids become more frequent, Ted and Muriel are seperated by war, but bound by hope.

A heartfelt coming-of-age story rooted in local history and resilience.
